CHOOSING YOUR NAME WHEN YOU ARE A STEP-GRANDPARENT

I found some suggested names online but not really sure what I want to be called by this cute little bundle of joy!

I should have decided this a while ago, I know...but recently, when my daughter-in-law said to me, "What do you want him to call you? (referring to my baby step-grandson, who I love, as if he were my own flesh and blood!) I had no idea what to answer.

I know I do not want the traditional grandmother names because I certainly don't feel like a grandmother yet.  I know, you are thinking, "what does a grandmother feel like?"  I don't have the exact answer, I just know I am not there yet, so for now, I think I will consider something cute and catchy and easy for him to say with meaning.  Is that asking too much?  LOL!

SUBSTITUTE GRANDMA NAMES I HAVE CONSIDERED:
  • Mimi
  • Nina
  • Nana
  • Nanny
  • Nonna
No matter, what he calls me, even if it's by my name, I love him already...forever and ever.

Does anyone have any cute name suggestions for me? He lives out of state and will be visiting for the holidays, right about the time he will start talking!

Can't wait to hold this precious boy in my arms again!!

  1. I love your suggestions and wish I had them 20 years ago when I first became a step-grandma. I did not want to take the "thunder" from the actual grandma and settled for being called by my first name. I think I like Nonna best.
