WILL 2021 BE A BETTER YEAR?

Here are my end-of-the-year thoughts on the question everyone is pondering. Will 2021 be a better year than 2020 was?

We are all ready to 💃run out the door of 2020 but as we enter the New Year, let us not forget that it is just another day on the calendar filled with the same troubles, challenges, issues and ups & downs we faced the last 364 days. Unless we change our mindset and our ways - individually and collectively - nothing will change.
We don’t need to make resolutions, we need to be more mindful of our thoughts going forward and our daily choices and how those choices affect not only our own lives, but the lives of those around us.  We need to seize each day ("Carpe Diem") as if it were our last.

2020 showered us with endless glimpses of death, hate and bigotry.  It made us question so many things in our lives and in our world.  Some believe there is an epic change coming; others are just going about their business as usual, just coasting through life. There will be no growth if there is not change - whether it is good or bad. 2021 can be a better year if we make changes to become better, do better.  This is not to say we will not face hardships but it is the ups and downs of life that creates balance. The problem with 2020 is that it felt so unbalanced and for so many, it was filled with way too much darkness.

Things have to change. We have to change. I am the first one to be stuck in old routines and procrastination but I am going to work on it! 🤞 We have to learn be very present and aware on a continuous basis to make any changes. We have to make a conscious effort EVERY single day to be happy and healthy - and for some, that may require help (and that’s okay.)

It is okay to change, to evolve and to shed the layers of who you were to become who you want to be. And if that requires letting go of old friendships, relationships or a job that doesn’t serve your higher purpose, or make you happy, then it is okay to let that go. Change is growth.

For a lucky few, who have found lifetime friendships and relationships, this is a blessing! Count them often.

If you want to be healthier, then you also have to make a conscious effort in that regard as well, everyday.

If this crazy year of 2020 has taught us anything, through the hard times, health challenges, financial struggles and even loss for many, it is that HEALTH and the 3 F’s (some may consider 4 🔥🤣) are what is important in life! (At least for me, that is my truth.)

✅ Faith
✅ Family
✅ Friends

No matter the year or the struggles we face, it is those 3 F's that sustain us and make us want to be better, do better and have it all. And as we have all learned, just like Virgil said, "The Greatest Wealth is Health!"

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what faith you choose. Ultimately, it is about the HOPE that there is something worth living for. It is about faith in the greater good, faith in yourself, faith in your success, even faith in those you love.

The thing is, 2020 forced us to reflect and see that we had it “all” this whole time. We may not have all the money we want or all the fancy things we think we need, but I mean at the end of the day, and at the end of the journey, when the final curtain closes on life, what will matter most, is how much we loved and what we did to make a difference in the world. Whether that is in the bigger scheme of things or in the nucleus of your own circle...through our faith, family and friends (new & old) we DO have it all.  Everything else is icing on the cake.

We are all given the gift of life - how we choose to use it, is up to us!

It is important as we enter 2021, to not be cynical, to not be pessimistic and to not stay glued to the influx of negative media that can bombard us on a daily basis. We have to focus on ourselves, on becoming better. Do not fall into the trap of the chaos going on in the world around you.

🎯 We must better ourselves individually so that we can make a difference collectively. 🌎

👉This doesn’t mean the new year and our lives won’t be filled with challenges but how we react to those challenges will be key. Hopefully, 2021 will be like the Gloria Estefan song, "Coming out of the Dark!"

A year from now, you are going to wish you made changes. Don’t wait....start today and Choose Better Days! 🥰  This is our time - not just be alive but to THRIVE! Let us make the "word of the new year,"   EMPOWER!  Empower yourself, so that you can empower others, to make the world a better place!

Peace, Love and Health to ALL!  And Keep Manifesting...LR
