WHAT GRIEF TEACHES US

Grief changes you. It makes you harder, yet somehow softer.  It teaches you to appreciate more, and to not take things too seriously.  It makes you more vulnerable, yet tough as nails.  It teaches you that every moment is a gift and teaches you to be willing to try new things and take more risk because you realize that time on Earth is promised to no one.

Somehow, losing a loved (especially your mother or a child,) molds you in ways that are inexplicable; somehow you become more bitter but at the same time, a better, more compassionate human being, as you learn from life’s lessons and from the unconditional love, they gave you.

Having faith in something greater helps you to be stronger in everyday life! Grief teaches us that life is a privilege and everyone in our lives is here to teach us something - whether it is good or bad. Grief teaches us to appreciate all the little things in life, as well as the people who love us. Grief also teaches us that time is a thief.

So today, even if you grieve, know that you were blessed for having had that person in your life, even if it was not long enough. Faith over fear helps you to go on. It helps to believe that there is something better in a different place other than this Earthly plane of existence. It helps to believe that you have an "angel" watching over you, and that aids in the moments of grief, which can be fleeting.

And if you are lucky, really lucky, you can even "feel" them walking by your side when you need it.
