SHOOTING TOO CLOSE TOO HOME

One of my younger cousins is the one who took this picture that made the front page after the shooting at Florida State University (FSU) this November 2014. (Great reporting kiddo! CG)

 

So glad she is safe but it is sooo scary when tragedies like this continue to happen.  Usually, you only hear about those stories on the news, somewhere far away, but this one, this one was here in Florida, my home, where I have family that attend the University and friends who are alumni. This one hit way too close.

We must wake up to what is happening to today's youth. It is not only guns, it is the entire realm of a whacked out world: violence, bullying, lack of love and lack of morals and lack of quality family time, lack of empathy, lack of compassion. 

I sound like a religious conservative here, which I am NOT but as a country, as humanity, we must wake up and help. We must try to make a difference...for all. 

Even if it's only one thing at a time, one person at a time. It will matter...
