As children grow, it’s important to teach them how to look
after themselves. It not only saves time and effort on your part (in the long
run, of course), but it also teaches them valuable lessons about life, self
care, and their bodies. Use these tips and tricks for creating an effective
self-care station for your toddler.
Station supplies
Your self-care station can be basic, (à la the Montessori method,) or it can house virtually everything your toddler needs to get ready in
the morning and throughout the day. If you decide on a basic self- care station,
all you need is a:
-Washcloth
-Water basin
-Toothbrush
-Hair brush.
Consider
adding child-friendly soap, toothpaste, towels, and a toilet station and you
will be all set. Make sure to have a mirror as well, so your toddler can check
her progress as she goes.
