CENTRAL PARK IN NEW YORK CITY

If you are looking for somewhere fun to go this fall with the family, I highly recommend New York.  I was looking at the website of Central Park Sightseeing, because I was looking for info to give to some of my cousins that want to go for a visit and it reminded me of what an awesome time I had there when my daughter was a toddler.  I recommend the fall because as we all know the winters in New York can be brutally cold and much to my surprise, New York is painfully hot during the summer.  Fall time is just right, not too cold, not too hot and the change of season reflects beautifully in the landscape of NYC, especially in its parks.

Sure, New York is a great City with amazing places to eat and wonderful shows to see but one of my favorite things in N.Y.C. is visiting Central Park! When my daughter was little, I remember I took her for a day of adventure and we spent all afternoon there.  She loved every minute of climbing and playing on the slide in Central Park. I remember her grabbing a piece of cardboard that was there at the park and running up to make the line at the stairs to the slide and giggling with joy all the way down.

I have been to New York plenty after that, but that visit and special day with my child in Central Park was unforgettable. The 45 ft. Granite Slide at the Billy Johnson Playground in Central Park is a must-do for children! As is the Central Park Zoo!  That in itself, would require a whole other blog post because there were so many cool animals and fun experiences there.

The Zoo is located on 64th Street & 5th Avenue but we opted to go on a different day.  My daughter enjoyed that too, but the special adventure of Central Park and the slide at Billy Johnson was just priceless!

Not only is the slide great fun for the kids but there is also a park area and lots of fun climbing, especially at the playground on E. 96th Street and Fifth Avenue. This playground has tire and bucket swings, spiral slides, an octagonal sand box, large water spray, and a climbing tree house.

I remember letting her enjoy every second of being a kid at the park and reveling in her joy but I also saw some really great things that others were doing, like horse carriage rides, rollerblading, bike tours and the Central Park Pedicab tour.  I always said I wanted to go back to try out some of those things.  Maybe it's time for me to plan a trip as well!

Another one of my favorite things about walking around Central Park was all the vendors.  I couldn't resist and had to get a NY hotdog in Central Park! Oh, so good!

There is plenty to do for everyone in Central Park.  There is even 12 HIDDEN SECRETS in Central Park.

If you decide to plan a trip to New York, make sure to grab some of the great links on here to do all the fun things you can with Central Park Sightseeing. If you miss the travel window for the fall season, remember there is always time to catch the New York Holiday Lights Walking Tour during the holiday season as well!

Whatever season you may choose, remember to have a great time, be safe and warrior on!
