HOW TO CALM DOWN YOUR DOG DURING FIREWORKS

Do You Have a Dog? Remember that when the 4th of July rolls around, sometimes our pets can get very frightened at the loud
booming sounds of fireworks.

Whether it is fireworks, thunder or anything that might make your dog nervous or anxious, I can help you with #5 to help calm them down.

8 Tips How to Calm Your Dog Down during Fireworks?

1. Walk them during the day or at least before the sunsets to avoid times when fireworks are likely to be set off.
2. Make sure to close windows and curtains to muffle the sound of fireworks. Maybe put on the radio if you can to drown out the outside noise.
3. Put the TV on to mask the firework sounds.
4. Put your dog in a quiet space where your dog can feel in control, whether it be their kennel (cage) or a bedroom.
5. Give your dog CBD. This can help calm down their anxiety and can help them get through a few hours a little more calmly.
6. Try, if possible, to stay close by and provide reassurance.
7. Try to distract your dog as much as possible.
8. Try to pet or massage your dog to make him/her feel more relaxed.

If you choose to give your dog CBD, try to do it at least 30 minutes to one hour BEFORE the fireworks are scheduled to begin. All you, have to do is add a few drops to your pet's food or water.  The CBD pet tincture is unscented and unflavored.

Remember that more dogs go missing after being scared by fireworks, than any other time.
