EATING YOU ALIVE

Recently, I watched a documentary called, "Eating You Alive," which only re-emphasized what most of us know, that the obesity problem in this Country is only getting worse. “Nearly 30.4 million people die each year from chronic diseases and $3.8 trillion spent in healthcare costs in the U.S. alone for treating what the CDC defines as "among most common, costly and preventable of all health problems."

Through their slick marketing and corporate greed, "they" are killing us all! Whether we live in subsidized housing or affluent neighborhoods, one thing we have in common is that we are getting addicted to sugary drinks and seriously unhealthy foods, being marketed to us all.

"We are eating ourselves into our graves." There is no profit in health and ultimately that is what it boils down to...greed, power and money and all at the cost of our health.

Sugary drinks

Most of us remember those science projects ^ we did or even helped our children with, that showed a visual representation of the amount of sugar in our soft drinks and juices.  Not much has changed - only the number of people addicted to soft drinks and sugary sodas and more options with tons of sugar or artificial sweeteners. Sugar causes measurable inflammation inside of our artery walls causing major damage to our cells.

Please take the time to watch, preferably with your spouse/partner and/or family members. It is not anything we haven't already known, but once in a while, it is good to be reminded of the harm we are causing our bodies, simply with our diet.

WATCH HERE:

Eating You Alive Video

We have to take charge of our OWN health as best as possible because the obesity epidemic is a serious problem in this country, actually, globally, and only going to get worse, especially if we don't change our eating habits and focus on BALANCING our LEPTIN & ADIPONECTIN levels!

GLOBAL WELLNESS TREND

One of the best things for me about being in the wellness industry is being able to make a positive impact in the lives of others.  In my opinion, we have come a long way since the pandemic, (and even a few years before that,) in terms of how we view wellness.

Most people, who are in the wellness industry or on a holistic health journey, are no longer willing to just “pop“ supplements without “evidence-backed immune health information.”  After a couple of years of living with the pandemic (Cv19,) most of us have learned that indeed, good health is wealth and we are demanding more of it.

And on that note, shifting to a business perspective, I have to point out that the global wellness economy, is valued at $4.4 trillion, (as cited in the 2020 Global Wellness Institute) with the mental wellness industry being a $131 billion industry
within that category. This industry is not only growing but has gained momentum not only in our country but worldwide - it is a global trend.

(Note: Specifically in the U.S., we are the largest market, at $1.2 trillion–nearly double the size of the second-largest market, China, at $683 billion. In fact, the US accounts for 28% of the entire global wellness market, while the top ten markets represent 71% of the world total.”)

Below are 10 Wellness Trends for 2022:

  • Dirt-y Wellness: The Health of the World’s Soil–and the Impact of Soil Exposure on Human Health–Become More Important
  • Toxic Muscularity Comes Clean
  • From Wellness Tech to Technological Wellness
  • Senior Living Disrupted
  • Wellness Travel: Seekers, Welcome
  • Innovative Tech Closing the Gender Gap in Medical Research
  • Urban Bathhouses & Wellness Playgrounds
  • Next-Gen Naturalism: The Return of Self-Reliance
  • Health & Wellness Coaching Gets Certified
  • Wellness Welcomes the Metaverse
As we lived through our new collective reality, people began to recognize that strengthening their immune system was key to good health and protecting themselves as much as possible.

However, many people did not have all the facts straight in their efforts to do so.

Since then, there have been many developments in the wellness industry and in scientific research as well.

According to an article in the Global Wellness Summit of 2021, the number one thing that can strengthen our immunity (personally and as a culture) is: to focus relentlessly on sensible, science-backed diets that drive metabolic health (and stop the profusion of trendy, complex ones that don’t).

As well as, to focus on the microbiome - that has an incredible 70% of our immune system headquartered in our “gut!” A healthy microbiome is an integral part of a health body.

The microbiome is “an outrageously complex system, and researchers are trying to crack the microbiome code, and testing will get better, with A.I. and machine-learning helping apply your byzantine gut data for personalized nutrition.”

It is this kind of information that reaffirms my alignment with that being in the health and wellness industry is the right place to be.

  • People are making healthy changes in their life and improving their overall health and mental wellness!!
  • People who have never had success in #NWM are now having more success than ever before!
  • There is a massive movement in the area of gut-brain connection!
  • Moms are able to stay home with their kids and earn some extra income!

🚀 We have access to a system that is easily duplicated. Literally, a step by step action plan to make sharing these products and business model so easy. All you need to do is plug in.

Our corporate & marketing team is awesome! Some of the platforms and systems they have created are incredibly user-friendly and super easy to navigate for customers as well! The marketing tools and sale sheets are on point and you guys know I LOVE sales & marketing!

I am blown away that there is actually a company out there that encompasses all the things I love and is having massive success!🤯 They are totally having an upward turn and the momentum is building.

I love being able to be a part of something where I can make a difference in people's lives, not only with their gut health but especially with their mental wellness. It is such a big difference to be surrounded with like-minded people, who want to serve other people in the right way and are authentic with their desire to help others as well. 💜
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is so much potential with these products and opportunity with this mental wellness company, which actually isn't shocking because there is such a huge need in the area of mental health. Never in my lifetime, have I seen as many people (specifically in America) in such need to find something to improve their MENTAL WELLNESS (re: stress, anxiety, depression etc...) and overall health during these very trying and uncertain times. I am still a big proponent of using CBD as an alternative health option but what I have learned during my health journey and research, is that the gut-brain connection is so powerful, as it relates to our overall health, that these products are literally life-changers!

After all the health issues I (and some of my family members have been through) it is my mission to help change the world for the better. If I can help just ONE person that is one less person who has to struggle and one person whose life will have improved! It is an incredible feeling when a customer shares their improvements and texts on how much better they are feeling.  The truth is so many people struggle silently, while others are crying for help, whether it is with their mental health, sleep, anxiety, depression, gut health issues or weight-loss resistance.

How many of us have felt like we are in an endless cycle of trying to lose weight, trying to feel better, only to end up feeling depressed when we don't lose the weight we want and then the vicious circle begins of poor eating that results in poor gut health. At the end of the day, I think we all want the same things, to be HAPPY and to be HEALTHY! And we want the same for our loved ones.

It is time to focus on feeling well from the inside out!  The mental wellness company has an amazing line-up of products that can help with all the issues mentioned above and more.

And it’s all happening just like they told me it would! Our team stats just blew me away:

💜 263 people earned free product in the first 15 days in the (last) month.
💜 121 earned an additional $500 with a special program we offer monthly.
💜 1730 new people joined our team (509 of them were business building partners)
💜 We celebrated 293 promotions on our team!

The benefits that these products offer are amazing
:

 ✔️ Increases energy levels
 ✔️ Nourishes good gut bacteria
✔️ Improves your microbiome
✔️ Helps control appetite
✔️ Supports healthy muscle mass
✔️ Increases feeling of fullness

We can all benefit from these supplements especially if you are looking to improve your gut microbiome, overall health and mental wellness! If you haven't read up on it yet....please go research (or Google) about the GUT-BRAIN CONNECTION!

If you know anything about momentum, you know it is all about TIMING! You don’t want to miss this!! The time is now! "You don't find the happy life, you make it!"

If you are interested in improving your gut health and mental wellness, let’s chat!! I have something for you and everyone in your family (kids & teens!)

A LITTLE MOTIVATIONAL POST

If we can take away anything from what we have been experiencing as a whole, (as the collective, that is humanity,) it is that a lot of us have gotten stuck in a state of introspection, not really knowing which way to go or what the purpose of life really is, or we keep asking why all of the suffering and hard times we may have experienced? Why the division, the hate, the anger, the apathy? Granted, there are many of you who have been living without any real disruptions or life-changing events, or can't really relate to this post. That's okay. However,  I want to say confidently, that there is a very large sector of society that can relate and has had life-changing events and mostly, not too great.  Think about all things you and/or your family members have been though in the last 2 or 3 years. Think about the roller coaster of emotions you have felt recently. It hasn't been a very smooth ride for most.

Well, I can total relate to those thoughts and feelings as well. And after a few years of reading, watching videos, focusing and learning about paradigm shift, mindset, and the collective consciousness, I have learned something that is really helpful, going forward. We must learn to move ourselves from the collective reality (ie: watching mainstream news, focusing on tragedies and things that bring us down.) to focusing on our internal reality at this time. It is important to stay informed, but it is even more important right now, to focus on the INTERNAL - to stay neutral and concentrate on getting on a frequency of LOVE and HIGHER VIBRATION.  It is easier said than done, I know.

We know better but sometimes we don't do better because we are programmed in our habitual ways, which is our paradigm.

Right now (and for the last couple of years,) the world has been in a “chaotic, collective co-reality,”
that is why it is vital that we project a positive outlook in our OWN lives, so we can affect the collective (humanity) in a positive way.  Going inward is not being selfish - it is realizing that all the little things matter. What we do matters and it has a ripple effect.  So, why not be a leader in positivity, rather than a feeder of negativity?  Anytime you focus on polarity, you are feeding it.

There will always be light & dark, but we must learn to project more light to offset the darkness.
✨

Do not let people with low-vibration frequency suck you into their drama. Simply elevate yourself into your own higher reality, even if you have to use your imagination to get there.

When it’s time to pivot, to do what is right for you and your family, do it, do not be afraid.

Speak your truth, seek adventures, seek growth, embrace the unknown, see beyond the division and go inward! Follow your intuition.

Faith over fear!

It is important to find your community, so that once you have mastered the art of loving yourself and loving life, you can go out and share it with your "tribe" and so forth begins a new collective of love and peace and happiness.  And as corny as that may sound to you, it is what humanity needs now.  It is evident that hate, anger, war and racism are not the path to elevate consciousness or society. It is time to change our conditioned behavior and our habitual ways.

It is absolutely time to focus on MENTAL WELLNESS  Recognize how important caring for your mental wellness is today! Remember, Love Always Wins

Love your journey with all the ups and downs and most of all remember that life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful.  As Jim Rohn use to say: "
Don't wish it was easier, wish you were better."  If you don't like how things are, change it!
  Love always...Amaré por siempre…💛🌻

GRATITUDE - THE GIFT OF LIFE

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to appreciate that everyday I wake up and every birthday I celebrate, is a gift!

Life they say, is all about finding your purpose. Not too sure yet if this is my purpose, but my passion is in writing, motivating and helping others to choose better days for their mind, body and soul and often times, I do it by sharing it on my blog and social media platforms. I like to believe that there may be some people out there that I inspire or help make their day a little better simply by sharing some motivational words or coaching them through difficult times, even if sometimes, I too, get lost in my empathy and need to "heal the world," so to speak. My path to wellness has been paved through gratitude and alternative health options and I want to share it with the world.  As the years go by, and thankfully, birthdays come & go, I feel like I am running out of time. If life has taught us anything recently is that, we indeed do not have time promised to us.

Life is a snippet of moments and I have been blessed with some great ones!  It's funny that with all with all the days we have lived, when we reflect back on life, it is only a few snapshots in our minds that really stand out. Sometimes, it is the most innocuous of memories that come to mind! It is those memories that we can look back on and judge our lives. Good? Bad? Happy? Sad?  A little mix of it all?

When we learn to live in the mix of chaos and love, and in the balance of good and bad; happy and sad; ups and downs…we can conquer anything!

And when it’s all said and done, I want to be remembered for the life I gave, the lives I brought into this Universe and hopefully, for the difference I made while I was on this Earth.

The greatest gift I have is my children and hopefully someday they will know how much they are loved and how important it is to make a mark in the world in a positive way. It is why we are ALL here! “Children (and grandchildren) are the messages we leave behind to a time we may not see.”

My advice to them and to you, my friend is:

Live each day with a grateful heart! Tell the people you love, how you feel about them while they are alive, be kind to each other, make an effort to make a positive impact in the world - I know sometimes, it gets hard. Do what you love and love who you want. And if you can't be with who you want, learn to be alone!  Learn to love yourself regardless of whether you have a partner or not! Do what makes you happy, yet never forget that empathy and compassion are an integral part of living in society.

Remember that age is nothing but a number and time is promised to no one. Every new day is an opportunity to start over if you need a "re-do." Never forget that life is most definitely a gift and when you get the chance to give it away, pray that you have lived your life to the fullest and leave a legacy behind that you can be proud of and if you get the chance to leave a piece of you behind, (save a life or two,) be come an organ donor!

Live your life as if everyday was your last because time is precious. This teaches you to be grateful for everything you have in the moment. While you are living your life, don’t forget to stop and smell the (proverbial) flowers!
And if you have to pick a flower, pick a sunflower always standing tall and looking for the light!
💫
Always be safe and be smart with your choices and live your best life! ALWAYS trust your instincts and the “little voice in your mind,” that sometimes tells you “that’s not a good idea.” That could be your guardian angel or simply the voice of reason - don’t ignore it.

Always remember that YOU have the Power to be Happy, to be healthy and to be kind. You hold the key to many different doors...choose your path wisely and don’t ever be afraid to start something new if you feel stuck. You will only regret the opportunities you missed. Take a chance - you won’t know until you try.

What you do matters.

With all its clichés and quotes, I have learned that life can be wonderful, even if it is not perfect. Sometimes, it is through the hardest and most difficult days, that we have the most growth and feel so deeply and so passionately, the love of our friends, our family and our community.

Love your journey

🥰

Cheers to another year of life! The gift of life. Thank you for being a part of my journey!Love Always....Lissette

ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

G R A T I T U D E🙏🏼

As we go about our lives, we need to recognize that we each have the power to be the "medicine" for someone else.  We have the ability to inspire and motivate others through our work and our actions. We also each have a responsibility to live our best lives.😭💕

God sometimes puts us right where we belong and places people in our path to motivate us and help us move in the right direction.

This is where my journey is taking me - to inspire, to motivate, to empower and to help change people's lives in health and wellness through mind, body & soul! It is okay if there are haters out there - this path is not for everybody and not everyone has to be a cheerleader, just don't be someone who depletes another person's energy.  I have learned that if I can help just one (1) person feel better or start them off on their own business journey, then I have already made a difference and that matters. 🤗

Thank you to ALL of you who support me, trust me & allow me into your lives, computers, phones and FB feeds to give you value & and share information and inspiration with you 💟 every day. 🤗

With that said, I would love to share this journey with YOU too, if you also want to change lives, help heal the world one drop at a time and inspire others, then feel free to reach out to me, DM, or comment below, so you can have a founding spot with me, I'll personally mentor you and get you the all tools you need to set you up for what's coming in JULY 2021 and beyond!🎉 .... It will blow your mind in the health and wellness space!

Why wait? Message me and let's chat! It's time to start making a difference! 👑

Repeat this affirmation after me: "Life is always saying 'yes' to me! I deserve more and am willing to give back in return! I am happy and grateful for all that I have in this moment and all that is yet to come!"

The day is coming when you'll smile and say: "This is the blessing I've been praying for." Thank you, The Universe/G-d/Source.  I AM GRATEFUL!

5 Nutritious Fall Foods That Can Help You Lose Weight

The following are 5 Nutritious Fall Foods that Can Help You Lose Weight

These seasonal eats offer weight loss-friendly fiber and a bevy of other nutrients that support overall health. When you hear "fall foods," what comes to mind? Pumpkin pie? Gravy? Stews, pot roast, and turkey? Whatever you associate with fall fare, chances are that healthy foods don't top the list. But they should: The right foods can help you shed pounds, and autumn's produce is no exception. Also you can seek help for professionals like optimal hormone, they are one of hormone therapy Texas provider.

So what should make an appearance on your plate? “When talking about weight loss with my clients, I avoid recommending specific foods but focus on certain food groups. I recommend making vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins — such as chicken, fish, turkey, beans, and tofu — the main attraction of a meal,” advises Kristen Smith, an Atlanta-based registered dietitian and spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

“Specifically, the goal is to fill half of your plate with vegetables and fruit,” she says. And that advice coincides with the MyPlate recommendations from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). It’s also easy to do this time of year (hello, in-season apples, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower!), with so much fresh and delicious produce available.

“Balancing your energy intake is much easier when you load up on vegetables at every meal,” adds Julie Stefanski, RDN, also a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, who is based in York, Pennsylvania.

The power of a veggie- and fruit-filled diet is real. A study published in March 2020 in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that various diets, including the Mediterranean diet, helped people lose weight and improve their health. This diet encourages eating foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and seafood.

According to Harvard Health Publishing, eating a diet that’s loaded with vegetables and fruit is not only good for your waistline but also good for the health of your entire body.

A meta-analysis published in November 2018 in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition singled out some fall produce staples like pears, apples, cruciferous veggies, and Brussels sprouts, plus green leafy vegetables and citrus fruits, as being especially beneficial to health. “A good intake of these plants was associated with a lower risk of heart disease and death from all causes,” explains Stefanski. Hormone Therapy Texas also believes that the food that we are eating everyday should be a powerhouse source of nutrients that our body needs.

Here are the best fall foods to eat right now: They'll help keep you slim while still allowing you to enjoy all of the delicious dishes the season has to offer.

  1. Spaghetti Squash is a Weight Loss-Friendly Pasta Substitute

Move over, butternut — there's another healthy squash in season. Spaghetti squash is a dieter's dream: With the shape and texture of pasta but a fraction of the carbohydrates and calories, it's a great way to satisfy pasta cravings and score extra nutrients.

Cooked spaghetti squash has 10 grams (g) of carbs and just 42 calories for a whole cup, according to the USDA. Plus, you get 2 g of fiber, which is 7 percent your daily value (DV), and 180 milligrams (mg) of potassium (4 percent your DV) — not too shabby!

A fiber-filled diet helps keep your digestive system running smoothly, lowers your odds of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers, and — you guessed it — contributes to a healthy weight, notes the Mayo Clinic.

Potassium is also a crucial nutrient: According to Harvard Health Publishing, it regulates your heartbeat and makes sure your muscles and nerves function properly.

Meanwhile, a cup of plain cooked pasta has 43 g of carbohydrates and 220 calories per cup, according to the USDA. Compared to spaghetti squash, you’re getting more than 4 times the carbohydrates and 5 times the calories in each cup with regular pasta.

  1. Apples Can Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth and Help Keep You Full

“Like most fruits, apples may aid with weight loss because they are rich in fiber and lower in calories, which means they can help keep you feeling satiated for fewer calories,” says Smith. The Mayo Clinic confirms this — fiber-packed foods take up volume in your stomach and are slow to digest, so you feel fuller, longer, often on few calories.

A medium apple has over 4 g of fiber (that’s almost 16 percent of your DV, making it a good source) and about 95 calories, according to the USDA.

“For some individuals, apples may also satisfy your sweet tooth naturally without offering added sugar and calories,” Smith says.

Recent research touts other apple — and pear — perks: A study published in August 2020 in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that a diet rich in special compounds called flavonoids (which are found in apples and pears) may help prevent Alzheimer’s disease.

While apples make a smart, portable snack as is, they also work well in a variety of recipes. For starters: “Apples can easily be added to many breakfast and snack items like oatmeal, yogurt, or cold cereal,” says Smith.

Then you can up your salad game with apples. “Including sliced or diced apples with salads can help naturally sweeten a salad. One of my favorite salads to add apples to includes spinach, goat cheese, walnut halves, and dried cranberries,” says Smith. You can bring apples to the dinner menu with a tangy twist on coleslaw, which is great as a side dish or as a topping on your favorite burger or sandwich. For a savory, fall-inspired carb, whip up some Apple Raisin Risotto — a more nutritious take on the classic Italian dish.

  1. Sweet Potatoes Are Slightly Lower in Carbs Than the White Variety

Sweet and colorful, this starchy veggie makes a perfect substitute for your classic Idaho. While it isn't dramatically lower in calories, it's slightly lower in carbohydrates and — as a bonus — higher in certain vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin A.

For the sake of comparison, consider that 100 g of sweet potatoes (slightly larger than a small sweet potato) has 17 g carbohydrates and 764 micrograms (mcg) of vitamin A, according to the USDA — that’s almost 85 percent of your DV, making it an excellent source. And the scoop on vitamin A? The Mayo Clinic notes that it can help with everything from vision to immunity. On the other hand, the same amount of white potatoes have about 20.5 carbohydrates and just 18 mcg of vitamin A, according to the USDA.

“Sweet potatoes contain both easy to digest carbs to fuel a workout and enough fiber to help you feel satisfied,” says Stefanski. The USDA notes that 100 g of sweet potato has almost 2.5 g of fiber, which is about 9 percent of your DV.

For all the french fry lovers out there, be sure to bake up a batch of these Crispy Sweet Potato Fries. And really, the possibilities for sweet potatoes are endless — you can whip up a sweet potato casserole or even a sweet potato latte.

You can also try sweet potatoes for breakfast. “I love to microwave a sweet potato and have it before a morning run,” says Stefanski. “Make the breakfast as large as you need to by adding Greek yogurt, toppings like granola, or even mixing in an overripe banana,” she says.

  1. Brussels Sprouts Are a Flavorful, Low-Calorie Veggie

If you're looking to cut back on calories without sacrificing flavor, sprouts are your new best friend. “Vegetables like Brussels sprouts offer few calories yet are loaded with fiber to help keep you feeling full for the long haul,” says Smith. As with other produce, this fact makes them a great go-to side dish in your weight loss meal plan.

In terms of fiber, ½ cup of Brussels sprouts have just over 2 g of fiber (so over 7 percent of your DV) and only 28 calories, according to the USDA.

And the health perks don’t stop there! “Brussels sprouts are loaded with vitamin K and vitamin C, which aid with functions such as blood clotting, immune health, and growth and repair of body tissues,” says Smith. The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health confirms that vitamin K is beneficial to blood clotting and rebuilding of bone tissues, while Mayo Clinic points out that vitamin C is crucial in your body’s healing process.

A ½ cup of Brussels sprouts have 109 mcg of vitamin K (91 percent of your DV, making it an excellent source) and 48 mg of vitamin C (53 percent of your DV, also an excellent source), according to the USDA. For those watching their carb intake, the same serving has only 5.54 g of carbs, making Brussels sprouts ketogenic diet- and diabetes-friendly.

If the shape or texture of typical Brussels sprouts turns your family off, give this Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad a try — they don't even have to know they're eating sprouts!

  1. Cauliflower is a Low-Carb, Nutrient-Rich Veggie Option

Low in calories and rich in some vitamins and other nutrients, it's no mystery why cauliflower is a go-to fall food when it comes to our health.

A cup of cauliflower has just about 27 calories and around 5 g of carbohydrates, according to the USDA.

These days, the cruciferous veggie gets a lot of hype because of its ability to serve as a sub for mashed potatoes, since the flavor is delicious and similar to potatoes, with fewer calories and carbs. To enjoy, simply blend cooked cauliflower with some sea salt, low-fat sour cream, and olive oil, and you have yourself a delish mash remix!

And cauliflower’s benefits don’t stop there. “Cauliflower is packed with phyto-chemicals that help support healthy cells and fight the development of cancer,” says Stefanski. The National Cancer Institute explains that cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower contain glucosinolates (the sulfur-containing chemicals that give the veggie its strong odor), which may help lower the odds of developing certain cancers.

Plus, cooking with cauliflower doesn’t have to be boring. “If you’ve never been a cauliflower fan, try roasting it with olive oil and a little salt and pepper, then topping it with Parmesan cheese or everything bagel seasoning — it has a milder flavor compared with boiling it,” explains Stefanski.

You can also use cauliflower to make a rendition of macaroni and cheese or even hash browns.
